The Lesser Antilles archipelago stretches across the eastern Caribbean from the Virgin Islands in the north to the Venezuelan coast in the south. Most of the islands are of volcanic origin, lush, fertile, and beautiful.
While Martinique belongs to France and Sint Maarten to the Netherlands, Saint Lucia has been an independent Commonwealth nation since 1979.
